Well, sort of.
Through a Facebook friend, I discovered a short story contest--due in next week. Well, I took one look at a prompt photo and had both a title and a rough plot leap into my mind. I scribbled it down and sat on it for probably sixteen hours. Then I got to work. By that time of course, the rough plot had taken a more decided form which was somewhat different from my original idea.
I haven't actually reached the conclusion yet, but I am already well past the 3,000 word limit by several hundred words. I think that once I finish, I will try to trim it down and if that works, I will submit the edited version and keep the unedited version for publishing here!
To whet your appetite for this cold weather tale, I will now set forth the name: "The Filigree Mask".
Stay tuned!
